The ODI World Cup 2023 ha reached its penultimate stage with the four semifinalists all set to go head-to-head. While hosts, India along with South Africa, Australia and New Zealand qualified for the semifinals, reigning champions, England along with top teams like Pakistan made their exit from the tournament after a forgettable season.

Despite being ranked among the top teams, Pakistan cricket team did not have a good season and finished fifth in the ODI World Cup 2023 standings. This dismal performance from the side has got them criticism from all across with reports of removing former number 1 ranked ODI batter and skipper Babar Azam from captaincy.

However,  in recent report doing rounds amid ODI World Cup debacle, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is mulling to sack the entire coaching staff. According to a report by Samaa TV quoting sources, Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to remove foreign coaching staff, including Team Director Mickey Arthur.

On the other hand, it is to be noted that Morne Morkel, Pakistan’s fast bowling coach resigned after their campaign at the flagship tournament. The former South African pacer joined the team on a six-month contract in June 2023. While his first assignment was Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka, his decision to call it quits came after  the team’s exit from ODI World Cup 2023.

“Pakistan Cricket Board will announce his replacement in due course. Pakistan’s next assignment is a three-match Test series against Australia scheduled to take place from December 14, 200, to January 7, 2023, in Australia,” PCB said in its statement.
