On Tuesday, January 28, India’s Gongadi Trisha scripted history as she became the first-ever batter to score a century in the history of Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The Indian left-handed batter achieved the historic feat during the side’s Super Sixes match against Scotland at the Bayuemas Oval in Kaula Lumpur.
The 19-year-old reached the landmark off 53 deliveries and raised her arms soon afterwards to celebrate the feat. After being asked to bat first, India's Gongadi Trisha reached the feat in the 18th over off Maisie Maceira. On the final ball of the 18th over of the innings, Trisha dabbed Maisie Maceira for a single through a backward point to reach her three-figure mark.

Apart from Trisha, wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini scored 51 off 42 balls with her innings being laced with nine boundaries, whereas Sanika Chalke scored an unbeaten 29 off 20 deliveries.
