Star Gujarat Titans batter Jos Buttler scored a match-winning 97*(54) runs as Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by seven wickets in Ahmedabad. The wicketkeeper fell short of his eight IPL hundred by just three runs but ended up smashing his highest score in the ongoing season for GT. With the help of his knock, the hosts chased the target of 204 runs easily.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, DC lost Abishek Porel (18 off 9) at the score of 23 runs after 1.4 overs. KL Rahul also got out after scoring 28(14) runs while Karun Nair contributed 31(18) runs. After that, skipper Axar Patel turned out to be a top scorer for DC with 39(32) hitting one four and two sixes. Apart from that, Tristan Stubbs scored 31(21) runs while Ashutosh Sharma gave finishing touches with 37(19) runs as DC posted a total of 203 runs for the loss of eight wickets. For GT,Prasidh Krishna took four wickets, while Sai Kishore, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan scalped a wicket each.

Jos Buttler - Sherfane Rutherford guide GT to easy win over DC

Chasing the winning target, GT lost their skipper Shubman Gill (7 off 5) in the form of runout at the score of 14 runs in 1.4 overs. After that, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler added 60 runs for the second wicket. Sudharsan got out after scoring 36(21) runs hitting five fours and a six. After his dismissal Sherfane Rutherford joined Buttler at the crease as the duo put up a partnership of 119 runs.

Sherfane Rutherford got out in the penultimate over after scoring 43 runs off 34 balls hitting with one four and three sixes. With 10 runs needed off the last over, Rahul Tewatia smashed a six and a four on the first two balls respectively as GT chased the winning target with four balls to spare. Jos Buttler was match-winning for GT with his unbeaten knock of 97* runs off 54 balls hitting 11 fours and four sixes.
