In the 59th match of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League (WCL) 2 at Windhoek, the Netherlands folded Namibia on 148 in 44.5 overs. Kyle Klein stood tall with the ball and played the role of destroyer-in-chief to hand momentum to his team. Launching the attack from his team, he got rid of Nikolaas Davin in the seventh over of the contest. Following Klein’s footsteps, spinner Aryan Dutt also picked up the vital scalps of Jan Frylinck, Zane Green and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton within the initial 20 overs of the match.

Both Klein and Dutt received support from their senior colleague Paul van Meekeren, who got the better of tailenders and ended the hosts’ innings on 148 in 44.5 overs. Klein emerged as the most economical bowler in the innings with 3/14 figures in his 8.5 overs. Dutt bowled in his nine-over spell and registered 3/28 figures while Meekeren also recorded 3/33 figures in his nine overs. Zach Lion-Cachet also bowled three overs and contributed to his team with the wicket of Malan Kruger.

Netherlands win by 7 wickets

Chasing a low score of 149, the Dutch side saw themselves in trouble after losing their top-order batters at a score of 40 in 10.1 overs but Colin Ackermann and captain Scott Edwards have stabilised the innings with their ongoing knocks. Netherlands chased the target in 37 overs with Colin Ackermann top scoring with 37*(81) runs.

The Netherlands have now reached the 2nd spot on the WCL 2 points tally with nine wins and five losses in 16 matches. The United States are holding the top position with their 11 victories off 16 outings.
