Rohit Sharma finally got his form back in the ongoing IPL 2025 after his match-winning knock of 76*(45) runs to guide Mumbai Indians to a convincing win over Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium. Chasing a target of 177 runs, Rohit took the charge for MI along with Suryakumar Yadav as the duo finished the game under 16 overs registering their fourth win of the season. With this win, MI have now reached the sixth position in the points table with four wins and four losses.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, CSK lost three wickets for 63 runs after eight overs. After that, Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube put up a partnership of 79 runs. Dube got out after scoring 50 runs off 32 balls hitting two fours and four sixes, while Jadeja remained unbeaten on 53*(35) runs with four fours and two sixes and CSK posted 176 runs losing five wickets in their 20 overs. For MI, Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets, while Mitchell Santner, Ashwani Kumar and Deepak Chahar scalped a wicket each.

Chasing the winning target, MI got a great start as Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton put up an opening partnership of 63 runs in 6.4 overs. Rickelton got out after scoring 24 runs off 19 balls hitting three fours and a six. After that, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav didn’t let any wicket fall for the rest of the innings as the five-times champions MI registered a hat-trick of wins in IPL 2025.
Rohit Sharma smashed his first fifty of the season in 33 balls and remained unbeaten on 75* runs off 445 balls hitting four fours and six sixes. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadavb completed his fifty in just 26 balls and finished the game for MI with two back-to-back sixes in the 16th overs. He remained unbeaten on 68* runs off just 30 balls smashing six fours and five sixes.
