On Monday, April 28, Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets in match number 47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. However, the Men in Pink came into this fixture on the back of five straight defeats, GT were fighting for a spot to got to the top of the table, but just missed it tonight as they were bettered by the Royals in Jaipur.

For the unversed, RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and elected to field first. This decision did not assist the hosts as the visitors in Shubman Gill-led GT, posted 209 runs on the board, courtesy an 50-ball 84 from Shubman Gill and an unbeaten 50 from wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler. But what was ahead was completely unexpected as 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched several records as he guided his side to a comfortable win.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi races to second fastest century in IPL

The teenage sensation converted his maiden T20 fifty into a jaw-dropping century for the RR, becoming the youngest Indian to score a T20 century. Aged 14 years and 32 days, Suryavanshi also went on to become youngest centurion in men’s T20 cricket history, reaching the triple-digit figure off just 35 deliveries. With a 35-ball 100, the youngster became the second fastest to reach 100 in the league, sitting only behind Chris Gayle’s 30-ball blitz in 2013.
