Shivam Dube

India all-rounder Shivam Dube has been in and out of the national team but he has been consistently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the latest season, Dube played for the second-most successful team of the league, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The all-rounder had a hot and cold season. While he scored crucial runs for CSK, Dube could not pick a single wicket and also leaked runs.

Nonetheless, the all-rounder got a chance to play under Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most successful captains in the history of the sport and Dube feels that it was a great learning experience for him. The 29-year-old said that he could feel his performances getting better while playing alongside Dhoni.

“Playing under M.S. Dhoni was a great learning experience. He is a role model and mentors to the entire team. Playing with him helped me a lot and I could see my performance get better,” said Dube in an interview with IANS.

He further talked about his performance in the season and said that he could have done better. “There are good times and bad times, IPL 2022 was not a good year for us. We tried our level best to qualify but we didn't make it. There are a lot of ups and downs in this game, I did well with the bat but couldn't produce good results with the ball. I honestly think I could have done better,” said Dube. Notably, Dube scored 289 runs in 11 matches and took 0 wickets in the two overs he bowled.

My ultimate goal is to be part of Indian cricket team: Dube

The 29-year-old all-rounder who last played for India in 2020 against New Zealand said that his ultimate goal is to play for the national team. “My ultimate goal is to be part of the Indian cricket team again and win matches for my country. I am training every single day, following a strict nutrition programme and making improvements. I am gearing up for the upcoming season and planning to put on a mind-blowing performance, Let's see how it goes,” said Shivam Dube.
