Al Nassr recently sacked their coach Rudi Garcia because of a reported rift between him and the players. The Portuguese footballer and the legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently joined the Saudi club AL Nassr, wished his ex-coach farewell. It is to be noted that the Saudi Arabian club sacked Al Nassr manager and coach just eight months after his appointment.

CR7 took to social media to share a farewell message for the coach. In the message which also had a picture of Rudi Garci and Ronaldo shaking hands, the latter wrote, “Pleasure to have worked with you. All the best for the future.”

The Saudi club announced on Twitter that Garcia would leave his role immediately. Their statement said, “ Al-Nassr can announce that Head Coach Rudi Garcia has left the Club by mutual agreement. The board and everyone at Al-Nassr would like to thank Rudi and his staff for their dedicated work during the past eight months."

If reports are to be believed, Rudi Garcia had a sour relationship with the dressing room which led to him getting sacked. As reported by several media outlets, the 38-year-old was not happy with the coach’s tactics and believed that he was the result of the team’s underperformance.

Talking of their campaign, Al-Nassr lost the Saudi Super Cup final to Al-Ittihad in January and have not beaten any of their closest rivals in Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, or Al-Shabab in the league this season. They are three points off the top of the table after a disappointing draw against 11th-placed Al Feiha.

Al Nassr will now face their arch-rivals Al Hilal on Tuesday night.
