The Premier Handball League (PHL) is India's highest-level professional handball league which consists of six franchises, each of which represents a different city in India. In Jaipur, the teams were formally unveiled at a press presentation and the inaugural season is taking place at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium from June 8 to June 25, 2023.

The format has 30 round-robin matches followed by three knockout matches. Players from Thailand, Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Iraq, the Philippines, and Jordan are a part of the league. Each team will have 17 players, including 14 Indian players and three overseas players per squad. The matches are of 60 minutes split into two halves of 30 minutes each. There are seven members in each team (six outfields and one goalkeeper) and there are unlimited rolling substitutes.
