A day after receiving FIFPro XI award at FIFA The Best ceremony, Paris Saint-German star Achraf Hakimi is on the verge of getting arrested allegedly on rape charges. According to fresh reports, French prosecutors have initiated a probe on Hakimi after latter was accused of rape as he invited a woman to his home when his wife and kids were on holiday.
The Sun has reported that a 23-year-old woman told Police that she was raped by the PSG player but did not wish to file a complaint. Reportedly, the victim only wished to ‘make a statement of rape’ but prosecutors are now personally pursuing the case. They launched an investigation due to the seriousness of the allegations and the notoriety of Hakimi.
According to Le Parisien, the 24-year-old footballer began talking to the woman on January 16 via Instagram. Hakimi allegedly invited her to his home in Boulogne on Saturday and reportedly ordered an Uber to transport her. Reports have revealed that the footballer forced himself on the victim and kissed her without consent.
Talking about Hakimi’s married life, he got married in 2020 and has two sons. Hakimi’s wife, Hiba Abouk is currently on holiday in Dubai with their children. Notably, Hiba is a Spanish actress who is also a devout Muslim, like Hakimi.
However, the footballer has not responded to the allegations yet. Hiba is twelve years older than him and gained popularity through her role in the Spanish crime drama El Principle. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2020 and welcomed their first child soon after. Their second child was born in 2022.
On the back of brilliant performances for both club and country, Hakimi was selected for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Team of the Tournament.
He also played a crucial part in Morocco’s achievement of becoming the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals in December 2022. Hakimi became the first African player to be included in the World 11 since Didier Drogba in 2007.
