After receiving approvals and exemptions from the Abu Dhabi government on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to restart the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 on June 5. Earlier in the week, it was confirmed by the board that all competing franchises would be allowed to add two more players to their squads, bringing their total number of players to 20 for the remaining matches.

Sultans add West Indies' hard-hitting duo

Multan Sultans have picked two hard-hitting batters from West Indies, Shimron Hetmyer and Johnson Charles in the ongoing Pakistan Super League replacement draft.

Shemron Hetmyer has been picked, keeping in mind his recent form in the IPL for Delhi Capitals and six-hitting capabilities. Hetmyer was averaging 84 in IPL with a strike rate of above 200 in 6 games. Meanwhile, Johnson Charles was in blistering form while playing for South Castries Lions in St Lucia T10. The 32-year-old scored 109 in 3 games with a strike rate of almost 240.

The PSL 2021 was suspended in early March due to a COVID-19 breakout among players and support staff. 14 of the planned 34 games had been played before the postponement.
