The Pakistan Super League is ready for its ninth season in 2024 season as the Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars will look to defend their title.  The tournament is tentatively scheduled from 8 February to 24 March 2024. But ahead of the PSL 9 2024, the draft for the tournament will take place in December 2023.

What is the  PSL  Draft System?

PSL uses the draft system for player acquirement which divides the registered cricketers into five categories; Platinum, Diamond and Gold, Silver and Emerging. Each group will have a minimum of four Pakistan and four foreign players and each side could have 16 to 20 players.

The PSL 9 Draft 2024 will be held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on 13 December 2023.

According to media reports, a record 254 foreign players have registered for the PSL 9 draft.
