England have now kncoked out of the ongoing 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and ended up losing their last league match against South Africa. Although the result of the match mattered to South Africa as it would decide their qualification to the semi-finals over Afghanistan; the game was simply a consolation for the English team. This is because England have already lost their first two group-stage encounters against Australia and Afghanistan and have been knocked out of the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy. To add to their worries, Jos Buttler; the captain of the England team, has decided to step-down from his leadership role.
Former Indian Spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently uploaded a video on his Youtube channel amidst all this. The video titled ‘Bazball: Revolution or illusion’ was one where he heavily criticized the England cricket team and their approach to the game which has been popularly known as ‘Bazball’. During this video Ashwin also expressed his opinion about the dipping form of England batter Harry Brook.
Brook is now under immense pressure: R. Ashwin
R Ashwin also mentioned how England shown Harry Brook as a next generation player but it isn't looking like that due to his current form. "There is no consistent template in their batting. They were branding and marketing Harry Brook as the next generation sensation, but Harry Brook’s game is also sinking. He is now under immense pressure to produce match-winning knocks," These were the words said by Ashwin in his recent Youtube video. The English cricket team has not had a good start to this year.
England toured India at the beginning of the year to play 3ODIs and 5T20Is. Out of these matches they were able to only get one win in the T20I matches and were white-washed 3-0 in the ODI series. Their exit from the group-stage of the Champions Trophy will only add to this dismal recent record.
