UFC lightweight Rafael dos Anjos is looking forward to UFC 246, scheduled to take place on July 10. In the latest update, Rafael is another new name to join the fight night on July 10. He has accepted a fight with a top contender but he hinted that it’s not against Islam Makhachev. The former UFC lightweight champion dos Anjos has been in limelight after his continuous call to fight against Conor McGregor, but it won’t be this. Notably, McGregor will officially be fighting Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264 on July 10 in Las Vegas.

Who will Rafael dos Anjos fight?

Rafael dos Anjos, the former 155 lbs champion, is claiming that he will be a part of the event as the UFC wants him to fight another top contender.

Rafael dos Anjos took to his official Twitter account and seemingly ruled out fighting one rising UFC lightweight star, Islam Makhachev – a fighter he’d been booked against in the past. He revealed that he’s agreed to face the contender on July 10, which is the date when UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3 is scheduled to take place.

Dos Anjos refrained from revealing the name of the said top contender, but he did reply to a tweet wherein a Twitter user had suggested that the contender could be Islam Makhachev.

Dos Anjos was victorious in his last fight, where he finally dropped back to his former weight class after an unsuccessful run in the Welterweight division. RDA had lost four of five fights at welterweight. Though he’s 36-year-old now and five years removed from being the UFC lightweight champion, he’s still at the top of his game and is destined for a big fight.
