In a big boost to the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) plan of building the third largest cricket stadium in the world with a seating capacity of 75,000, the board received the lease of 100-acre land for the same. It is being learned that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot, who happens to be President of the state’s cricket association, received the letter himself.

Gehlot was handed the lease by Jaipur Development Authority Commissioner Gaurav Goyal at their office in the Pink City. Many other officials were also present on the occasion as the official document was handed to the RCA President for the land in Chomp village which is at the outskirts of the city situated at Delhi Road.

RCA receives 100 crore grant from BCCI

Furthermore, it is being learnt that the cost of this stadium is currently estimated at INR 650 crores, while the work on its construction is likely to begin in the next two months. RCA is mulling a state of the art infrastructure for the stadium. However, the big news for the state’s cricket governing body is that it has already received an INR 100 crore grant from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for this project. A further 100 crores shall be arranged through bank loans, while the remainder of the money, it is being reported, could be arranged by selling the corporate boxes in the stadium.
