Rajasthan Women’s T20 Championship saw an unprecedented batting failure from Sirohi, who got dismissed on four against Sikar. Two runs came for Sirohi through extras.. From Sirohi’s batting unit, 10 batters departed without scoring any runs. The match took place on August 11 in Jaipur. Spectators present at the ground were stunned to witness such a horrendous batting show. A few of them also ridiculed Sirohi’s side. The meagre score created uproar as critics came heavily on selectors for the team selection. In the second innings, when Sikar came to chase the total, Sirohi gave four extras while one run came from Sikar’s opener’s bat.
The game ended in Sikar’s favour by a comfortable margin and the contest became the hot topic as other 16 matches played that day got eclipsed. Noting such an underwhelming performance, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has been in huge trouble as they have been entangled in factionalism for over a year. The infighting has resulted in ineffectiveness in reckoning and producing real talents.
Sanyam Lodha accused the state government and RCA for the disaster
Following the terrible performance from Sirohi, former MLA Sanyam Lodha has levelled allegations on the state government and RCA. He said that Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is destroying cricket’s infrastructure in the state. Players aren’t provided with enough resources and they don't get adequate chances to practice as well. The Cricket Association’s President is a person who belongs from some other district and has no knowledge related to the sport.
In Rajasthan Women’s T20 League, Udaipur, Karauli, Badmer, Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Pali, Churu, Shree Ganganagar, Jhunjuhunu, Tonk, Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Bhilawara, Jalore, Jodhpur, Kota, Pratapgarh, Boondi, Sikar, Sirohi, and 11 other teams have shown up.
