Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is set to play the role of former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly in his biopic, the reports have claimed. While the rumors of Ranbir playing the role of Ganguly were doing the rounds, the reports have claimed that the actor has been finally roped in for the movie after Ganguly gave the nod to the script.
While the actor for the lead role has been locked in, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. The reports have further confirmed that the shooting of the movie will begin soon. Currently, Ranbir is involved in promotions for his upcoming film with Shraddha Kapoor. There are also rumours floating of MS Dhoni playing a small part in Ganguly's biopic but nothing has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the former BCCI President will return to IPL as Director of Cricket with the Delhi Capitals in the 2023 edition. Ganguly will also oversee all the cricket verticals of the franchise along with the ILT20 team Dubai Capitals and the SA T20 league side Pretoria Capitals. The IPL 2023 is set to kickstart on March 31 with the match between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.
