RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal has been tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the IPL 2021. He has been isolated from the rest of the squad and is in quarantine. The positive test now makes him doubtful for the IPL opener against Mumbai Indians.

His unavailability would come as a major setback for RCB. The side is in Chennai where they are training for the first match. On Saturday, Delhi Capitals' spinner Axar Patel also tested positive for COVID-19. The 20-year-old batsman was in dream form for his domestic side Karnataka in the recently-concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he ended as the second-highest run-getter.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders' Nitish Rana had also tested positive for the coronavirus, but returned a negative test on Thursday earlier this week.
