“Faf: Through Fire”, the autobiography of former South African captain Faf du Plessis is set to be released in May 2023. This book is an introspective work which will give a deep insight into the heart and mind of du Plessis as he went from being a young guy with questionable beliefs and values to becoming one of the most influential captains of the Proteas. Currently, Faf du Plessis is playing in the IPL as the captain of RCB.

In his autobiography, du Plessis also reflected on how some of the most influential leaders in his life, including the likes of Gary Kirsten, Stephen Fleming, Doc Moosajee, Graeme Smith, AB de Villiers, Owen Eastwood, Russell Domingo, Ottis Gibson, and MS Dhoni, made him a better man and the leader of men.

Over his 9-year long international career, Faf du Plessis amassed 11198 runs in 262 matches across formats with 23 hundreds. He led South Africa in 108 matches and achieved 68 victories in total for his country.

Before the release of his book, Faf du Plessis put out a statement which read, “I am very excited about my book, 'Faf Through Fire', being launched in India. I have always felt at home here and I have been extremely blessed to receive immense support while playing in India over the years. I hope that the readers enjoy reading it as much as I loved sharing it.”

Penguin Random House India is the publisher of du Plessis’ autobiography. One of its members, Milee Aishwarya was quoted as saying, “Most of you would have seen Faf du Plessis play and lead his team on the cricket field but few do you know the person behind the cricketer and what drives him? Faf Through Fire will answer all these questions and some more.”
