The unstoppable Delhi Capitals registered their fourth consecutive win in IPL 2025 after they defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru in match number 24 of the season at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. With this, RCB also suffered their second defeat of the season and interestingly, both the defeats came at their home ground. Batting first, RCB posted 163/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, DC chased the winning target in 17.5 overs losing four wickets.
Coming to bat first, RCB were looking off for a fiery start as Phil Salt and Virat Kohli put up an opening partnership of 61 runs in 3.4 overs before Salt lost his wicket through run-out after a terrible mix up with Kohli. The right-hander got out after scoring 37(17) runs hitting four fours and three sixes. After that wicket, RCB lost the momentum as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Kohli also couldn’t convert his start and got out after scoring 22(14) runs while skipper Rajat Patidar contributed with 25(23) runs. However, Tim David gave finishing touches with his unbeaten 37*(20) runs with two fours and four sixes as RCB crossed the 160-run mark on the last ball of the innings. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took two wickets each while Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma scalped a wicket each.
KL Rahul comes up match winning 93* as DC stun RCB after poor start
Chasing the winning target, DC had a poor start as they lost three wickets for just 30 runs in 4.3 overs. After that, skipper Axar Patel and KL Rahul did a little recovery but couldn’t score further as Patel got out after scoring 15(11) runs reducing DC to 58/4 in 8.4 overs.
After that, KL Rahul took the innings further and went on to complete his half-century in 37 balls. He also got a support from Tristan Stubbs as the duo put up an unbeaten partnership of 111 runs to take DC home. Stubbs remained unbeaten on 38*(23) runs hitting four fours and three sixes, while Rahul finished the game with a six. The wicketkeeper batter scored an unbeaten 93* runs off 53 balls with seven fours and six sixes.
