Delhi capitals Captain Rishab Pant recently talked about his funny moments on the stump mic during the historic 2020 India vs Australia Test series. While talking to India women’s team batter Jemimah Rodrigues on a segment called ‘Pant Mic’ for sports fantasy app Dream XI, Pant spoke on why he referred to then Australia captain Time Paine as a ‘Temporary Captain’. 

The 24-year-old talked about how Tim Paine was talking to him about the security of his place in the national team and hence when the roles reversed, Pant decided to retaliate with some verbal rippers. He said, “ I was getting irritated because of that so I thought I'm gonna give him back. I don't care who he is, I just have to play my cricket and I have to give him back. So that's why I come up with all these different ideas. “

Rishabh Pant’s response to Tim Paine in the Boxing day Test match was, "You got a special guest today...come on manki (Mayank Agarwal). Have you heard a word, temporary captain? Hai mank (Mayank)? Have you heard the word temporary captain ever? You don't need anything to get him out. He loves to talk, that's the only thing he can do," he had said.

He was also asked about singing the Spiderman-spiderman song during the Brisbane Test. Pant replied by talking about how he wished Chesteshwar Pujara could spill webs like the Marvel character Spiderman and catch the half-chances presented by the bowling. During the Test match, Pant was heard saying, “Aise web phenko web (Throw a web-like this)”,.which was followed by him Indian Spiderman song, "Spiderman Spiderman" in the same tone. 

In another segment with Jemimah Rodrigues, Rishabh Pant also opened up about battling various injuries and batting with painkillers in that series. He said, “I took the painkiller injection during the game, went to the nets and I was trying to hold the bat but it was painful. I was perplexed and also afraid after getting hit.
