Road Safety World Series featuring cricket legends is reportedly set to start after IPL 2022 and will be played across four cities in India. Sources close to the development have confirmed that the tournament will kick start after the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. Reportedly, cities like Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Lucknow, and Indore have been chosen as the four venues, but confirmation is yet to be received.

Notably, Road Safety World Series' inaugural edition saw the participation of teams from India, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies. Cricket legends from these nations set the pitch on fire as the tournament was applauded and widely followed by all the cricket fans across the globe. Indian Legends were the champions of the inaugural edition of the tournament under the leadership of Sachin Tendulkar. In the last season's final, India Legends had defeated Sri Lanka Legends by 14 runs to win the tournament. However, Tendulkar has disassociated himself from the tournament this time around due to non-payment issues that surrounded the tournament for quite some time. Earlier, Bangladesh media reported that former Bangladesh players such as Khaled Mahmud, Mehrab Hossain, and Rajin Saleh have not been paid for their involvement in the inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series.

Payment issues have been cleared now: Rajin Slaheh

But later, Rajin Slaheh released a video stating that he had received his payment for his involvement in the tournament. He said, "It was a fabulous tournament, it was a great journey for us. I know there have been some payment issues, but it has not been cleared now." Former Bangladesh spinner Abdur Razzak also stated the same and informed that there were initial issues, but it was all resolved later.

The tournament, which was held in 2022, committed 10 per cent to every player upon signing, while another 40 per cent was supposed to be paid by February 25, 2021. The remaining 50 per cent was supposed to be cleared by March 31, 2021. But due to delay in payment, the tournament grabbed a lot of limelight for all the wrong reasons.
