India captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his left thumb while attempting a catch in the second ODI between India and Bangladesh. Although the Indian captain came out to bat in the second innings, he did not look comfortable. Notably, Sharma scored 51* off 28 balls but failed to win the match for India. With this defeat, India lost the three-match series.

Nevertheless, there is still one game left in the series which will be played on 10 December. India will look to finish things on a high but the Men in Blue have been struck with a series of injuries. While captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb, Deepak Chahar had issues with his hamstring. Kuldeep Sen too has problems with his back.

Therefore, all three of these players have been ruled out of the third ODI. India head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed the news at the post-match press conference. While lauding the Indian captain for his heroics, Dravid also confirmed that Rohit will fly back to Mumbai to get experts’ advice on his injury.

“Rohit Sharma will miss the 3rd ODI, he will fly back to Mumbai. Not sure about his participation in the Test series as of now. Kuldeep Sen & Deepak Chahar are out of the series,” said Dravid.
