There is no doubt that Roston Chase has been one of the mega performers of CPL 2021 season. The 29-year-old has made some match-changing contributions in all departments and Saint Lucia Kings were hoping that he could repeat the same heroics in the finale. Chase certainly did not disappoint as he scored a crucial 40-ball 43 in the first innings to take his side to 159/7 in 20 overs.
The off-spinner was then handed the ball in the very first over of the second innings and he once again stepped up to the occasion. Chase dismissed Chris Gayle for a duck to give his side the much-needed breakthrough in the final. However, that was not the end of his heroics on Wednesday as the moment of the day was yet to come!
Chase takes one of the best catches of season
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were feeling the scoreboard pressure after scoring only 19 runs in first 3 overs. Wahab Riaz was introduced into the attack and it looked like Evin Lewis will go after the Pakistani pacer.
After defending the first ball, the left-handed batsman hit a glorious boundary straight down the wicket. Few deliveries later, Lewis was back on strike and Riaz tried to surprise him with a back-of-a-length delivery.
Lewis tried to pull the ball but did not really time his shot as he would have wanted. The ball probably struck it high on his bat and hence wasn't traveling to the boundary. But interestingly, Roston Chase was standing way ahead of the ropes which gave him a chance to attempt the catch.
Despite his clever positioning, it looked like the ball would still land a few inches short of him. But Chase did not give up and took some giant strides forward before producing an incredible low dive to remarkably hold on to the catch.

Chase ends CPL 2021 as highest run-getter
The magical effort by Roston Chase also ensured that Evin Lewis could not surpass the former's run-tally of 446 runs in this season. Lewis' 6-run knock could put him only second in the list with 426 runs in CPL 2021. Notably, Chase also became only the first-ever player in history of CPL to register 400+ runs and 10+ wickets in a single edition.
