After another high-scoring thriller in the Indian Premier League, it was the Rajasthan Royals who ended up on the winning side after beating the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium. While Jos Buttler (116 off 65) continued his impressive form and brought up his third century of the season, his opening partner Devdutt Padikkal (54 off 35) also chipped in with a half-century as the duo put on 155 runs for the first wicket.
Later Sanju Samson's cameo also played its part in helping Rajasthan Royals to their eventual mammoth total of 222/2. In response, Delhi Capitals did try to put Rajasthan under pressure and had their moments in the match but in the end they fell by 15 runs short. Rovman Powell (46* off 19) top-scored for Delhi but it wasn't enough on the night. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers for RR as he finished with 3 for 22.
The match saw dramatic scenes unfold as a contentious claim by the umpire wasn't taken in the right spirit by Delhi Capitals and a member of their coaching staff also ran onto the field to argue the decision.
