
Young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the 3-match T20I series against New Zealand due to a wrist injury. Gaikwad is currently in National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation. The 25-year-old reportedly complained of wrist pain after Maharashtra vs Hyderabad Ranji Trophy match. He scored 8 and 0 in that game.

BCCI is yet to announce the replacement and his exclusion. Notably, Ruturaj was a part of the Sri Lanka T20I series as well but didn’t play a single match.
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan to open innings
Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are set to open the innings in the 3-match T20I series in the absence of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. While fans were hoping to see Prithvi Shaw opening alongside Shubman, skipper Hardik Pandya confirmed that the youngster will have to wait a little longer.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav is likely to get a nod ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal in 1st T20I. Kuldeep has been in tremendous form in limited overs, picking 6 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 22 in the recently concluded ODI series against the Kiwis.
