The highly-anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final is set to get underway at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from June 11. Table-toppers, South Africa will take on defending champions and the second-placed side, Australia in the summit clash across five days, until June 15. As the finale is set to be a cracker of a game, the biggest thought that comes is what will happen if rain plays a spoilsport?
Although the forecast suggests nice, bright weather on the opening day, there are probability of overcast conditions as the cloud cover is expected to increase from 45 to 75 per cent in London. However, the probability of precipitation stands close to none, as per the listing on Accuweather, there could be some passing showers.
Is there a reserve day in WTC 2025 Final?
Moreover, day two and three of the five-day game could see some rain, but the remaining two days could be a lot better with sunny conditions and some cloud throw in. As a result of the same, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also kept a reserve day for the summit clash, like its previous two editions.
The sixth day, June 16, which has been kept the reserve day, will be used only if time has been lost to bad weather across five days and no result has been reached by the end of fifth day. In the 2021 edition of the final, which was played between India and New Zealand, saw the game move into the reserve day after Day 1 was washed out in Southampton.
