Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa will lead the Indian team at the 2023 Squash World Cup, which will be hosted in Chennai from June 13 to 17, the country's squash regulatory body announced on Monday. The games will take place in Chennai at the Indian Squash and Triathlon Academy and Express Avenue Mall.
It is to be noted that Chennai last hosted the World Cup in 2011. The Tamil Nadu government is funding this event, which will bring together the best squash players in the world to battle for the prized trophy. Since its last staging in 2011, the Squash World Cup, now in its fourth season, has experienced considerable alterations and will aim to motivate a new generation of squash fans in India.
Two men and two women will make up each team, who will compete against one another in ties of four matches within each pool. The 2023 Squash World Cup trophy will be up for grabs among the following nations in hosts India, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Australia, and Colombia. Egypt is anticipated to be the event's top seed.
