Serie A matches scheduled to take place on April 21, Monday, have been officially adjourned for a period of mourning after the death of Pope Francis on Monday morning. Francis breathed his last at the age of 88. The league made the announcement through a statement. Four games were scheduled to be played on Monday. The title race has come to an intriguing phase in the tournament with Inter Milan and Napoli with 21 wins and eight losses in their 33 outings respectively. Both have racked up 71 points apiece but Inter Milan are leading the points table as they are leading in terms of GF, GA, and GD. The race for UEFA Champions League 2025-26 will witness the stiff competition among Atalanta, Bologna, Juventus, Roma and Lazio.
Eight teams, who were scheduled to play their games on Monday, will now be seen in action on April 23. "Following the passing of His Holiness, Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A can confirm that today's league games in Serie A and Primavera 1 have been postponed," Serie A announced in its statement.

Juventus and Lazio will be feeling pressure as they have to earn three points in their rescheduled fixtures. The league’s most successful side Juventus will square off against Parma at Ennio Tardini while Lazio will take on Genoa at Luigi Ferraris on Wednesday. Juventus are in the fifth spot on the tally with 15 wins, three losses, and 14 draws in their 32 appearances.
On the other hand, Lazio are holding the seventh position with their 16 wins, eight draws and eight defeats in their 32 matches. Both Juventus and Lazio are aiming to reserve their spot for the UEFA Champions League 2025-26.
