The Indian Premier League (IPL) is considered the biggest T20 league in the world for a reason. The intensity with which the games are played here makes it the most loved tournament. Incredible catches, eye-catching shots, and brilliant bowling are what attract the fans. One such awe-dropping moment occurred in Match 19 played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).
Shardul Thakur produced one of the best catches in this season of the Indian T20 League. The DC all-rounder ran backwards from mid-on to grab Ajinkya Rahane's catch near the long-on fence. This brilliant catch from Thakur reminded fans of the famous catch from Kapil Dev in the 1983 World Cup final at the Lord's to dismiss Vivian Richards.

Thakur impresses with his cameo
Before producing this brilliant effort in the field, Shardul Thakur impressed everyone with his little cameo. People were left amazed at DC management's decision to send Thakur ahead of Sarfaraz Khan. But the batter settled the debate with his 11-ball 29* which helped Delhi Capitals post a mammoth total of 215/5 on the board.
He partnered with Axar Patel to aggregate 39 runs from the last two overs. The duo put on a 49-run stand for the sixth wicket in just 20 balls. Thakur hit three sixes to Umesh Yadav in the 19th over. Patel also matched up with Thakur as he scored a 14-ball 22*. Earlier, DC got off to a flying start as the opening pair of David Warner and Prithvi Shaw scored 62 runs in the first six overs.
They formed a 93-run stand for the first wicket before Shaw was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy. However, before departing, Shaw had already done his job with his 29-ball 51. David Warner also got his mojo back in IPL as he scored 61 (45). Captain Rishabh Pant also played a quickfire knock of 27 off just 14 balls.
