New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips has been playing incredibly for the Blackcaps as he completed 1,000 runs in international cricket. However, off the field, Phillips has made a life choice as he got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Kate Victoria on Monday. In almost a fairy tale, Glenn Phillips made his engagement extra special as he went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend amidst the beauty of nature at the Hooker Valley Tract in Mount Cook National Park.
He shared the pictures on Instagram with the caption “She said YES! looking forward to forever Mouse.” Glen and Victoria have been together for more than two years and recently shared a picture sharing their two-year anniversary on social media.
Similarly, the couple is always seen posting pictures and videos with each other on social media.
The good news keeps on coming for Glenn Phillips as he retained his place in the ODI squad for New Zealand's upcoming Australia tour. The Blackcaps will face the Aussies in three games in Cairns on 6 September, 8 September and 11 September.
Blackcaps coach Gary Stead addressed the new additions to the team and the players who were dropped. He said, “The fact we’re having to leave out players of the calibre of Ish, Henry, and Will shows the increased depth we currently have at our disposal. Glenn’s a versatile player who can cover most places in the batting order for us - as well as providing a bowling option if needed.”
“It’s great to welcome back Matt. He’s been one of our front-line one-day bowlers for the past few years and his ICC ODI bowling ranking of six is a testament to that. The inclusion of Ben Sears is a nod to the future, and we also think his pace and bounce could be a good option in Australian conditions. It’ll be nice to have Kane back after missing the final two games of the West Indies series through injury. He’s obviously a world-class player and his leadership and experience is invaluable to our group.”
