Ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, Team India are set to tour Zimbabwe for three-match ODI series in August. Due to Men in Blue's tight schedule, two teams will travel simultaneously with different pair of coach and captain.

The three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe is scheduled to take place on August 18, 20 and 22 respectively. According to a prominent media house, a source from Zimbabwe board said, "Yes, Team India will tour Zimbabwe for a small ODI series. The first match will be played on August 18, the second on 20, and the third and final ODI will be played on 22."

Indian team management has decided to rest coach Rahul Dravid and other senior players to prepare for the Asia Cup. "Our focus is on T20s as the T20 World Cup is approaching. We will have a mixture of youth and senior players. But all T20 regulars will be rested for the series. Shikhar will lead as he is the most senior pro on ODIs," a senior BCCI official was quoted by InsideSport.

Besides the two T20 warm-up games, the NCA coach Laxman has already coached Team India against Ireland and 1st T20I against England. Before the tour of Zimbabwe, Shikhar Dhawan is set to lead the Indian side against West Indies in a three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series, from July 22.

Meanwhile, Team India is playing the white-ball series against England. India have taken a 1-0 lead against England in three-match T20I series. The second T20I is scheduled to take place at Edgbaston on Saturday.
