In the world of sports, there have been some sibling pairs who have achieved massive success together. Riding on their contributions, their teams and countries have recorded major success in sports. In cricket, Greig Chappell and Ian Chappell won many games together for Australia in cricket while in tennis Bryan brothers - Bob and Mike won several major titles for the United States. Similarly when Manchester United dominated the Premier League during the 1990s, brothers Gary Neville and Phil Neville performed excellently for the club. Besides these notable pairs, there have been several sibling duos who became huge names in the sporting domain. 5. Amelia Kerr and Jess Kerr
New Zealand Women’s all-rounder Amelia Kerr and her elder sister Jess Kerr have played a lot of women’s international cricket together since 2020. In 2024, when New Zealand won their maiden T20 World Cup title under Sophie Devine’s captaincy, both were part of their team’s campaign. Amelia made a crucial contribution of 135 runs and 10 wickets in six matches and also became the Player Of The Match (POTM).
4. Andy Murray and Jamie Murray
Andy Murray played competitive tennis for 19 years from 2005 to 2024 and during this period, he also allied with his younger brother Jamie Murray for ATP doubles. In 2010 and 2011, they achieved notable success together after winning the Valencia Open in 2010 and Japan Open in 2011.
3. Steve Waugh and Mark Waugh
Steve Waugh and Mark Waugh made significant contributions to make Australia the most successful team in the cricketing world. In 1999, when Australia won their second title under Steve’s captaincy, he himself chipped in with 398 runs in 10 matches and ended up as the second-leading run-getter while Mark concluded as the fourth-leading run-scorer with 375 runs in 10 games.
2. Serena Williams and Venus Williams
The United States’ (US) Serena Williams and Venus Williams are illustrious figures in the tennis world. In 2022, Serena bid adieu to professional tennis after playing for 27 years from 1995 to 2022. On the other hand, Venus is still active in the sport. Both Serena and Venus contested against each other several times but when they came together as a doubles’ pair, they made their opponents sweat. They won 22 titles in which Grand Slam success is also included.
1. Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan
Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan played international cricket together for the first time in the T20 World Cup 2007 final against Pakistan, held in Johannesburg. In the famous game, Irfan became the Player Of The Match (POTM) for guiding Team India to an intriguing five-run triumph. Before Irfan’s heroics, Yusuf gave a solid start to the team with his brisk 15 runs off eight balls.
