Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has spoken on current skipper Rohit Sharma amidst the latter’s retirement talks are hitting the headlines in the last few weeks. Rohit hasn’t produced a big knock from his bat in the Champions Trophy 2025, but did look effective as a leader. Under him, Team India will play their fourth consecutive final in the ICC tournaments with their appearance against New Zealand in the final of the ongoing competition, which will go down at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, March 9.
On the eve of the Champions Trophy final, India vice-captain Shubman Gill attended a press conference and said there isn’t any talks in the set up regarding the veteran’s retirement. After Gill, Sourav Ganguly also gave his views on the chances of the 37-year-old hanging up his shoes. Appearing on India Today, Ganguly said, "Why is there talk of Rohit Sharma's retirement? Why is this even a question? He won the World Cup just a few months ago. I don't know what the selectors are thinking, but Rohit is playing very well."
