With the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule out, South Africa is slated to kick off their campaign against one of the teams from the Cricket World Cup qualifiers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 7. Despite being one of the top-performing teams in World Cup history, the Proteas are still away from winning their maiden title in the marquee tournament.

Coming towards the 2023 World Cup, the South Africans would hope to better their previous edition performance where they finished seventh in the table with a record of three wins and five losses. Since then the Proteas have managed to beat World Champions England in a series while also dominating teams like West Indies in their recent series.

Now the World Cup is just 100 days away, SportsTiger makes an early prediction of a possible 20-man South African squad for the marquee tournament.

Batters: Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Rassie van der Dussen

The South African for the 2023 World Cup will see a new generation of batting stars with the retirements of stalwarts like Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis. The batting will be led by captain Aiden Markram, who has been on fire over the past few years.

Supporting Markram in the top order we will see the likes of David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen, who have been consistently scoring runs and finishing off games. Opening the innings Reeza Hendricks will be a consistent figure in the South African side while Temba Bavuma will be a high-quality backup option.
