As India begins their much-awaited tour of South Africa with Boxing Day Test in Centurion, one cannot help themselves but remember the incredible performances from their star pacer Sreesanth in past. From his masterclass 5-wicket haul to his epic send-off to Andre Nel in Johannesburg in 2006, the youngster from Kerala had taken the Proteas by storm. He also went on to take 9 wickets during the 2010-11 SA tour to make his mark once again.
However, after he was banned by BCCI for his alleged involvement in match-fixing, fans could not witness the magic of Sreesanth once again. But if the latest reports are to be believed, the lethal pacer might be coming back to play professional red-ball cricket in coming days.
It has been reported that the right-arm pacer has been included in the probable list of Kerala for the Ranji Trophy 2022. If Sreesanth actually gets selected in the final squad, it would mark his comeback to first-class cricket after a long wait of 9 years.
Sreesanth played his last first-class match in 2013
It must be noted that the lethal fast-bowler played his last first-class match way back in February 2013. He had represented Rest of India in the Irani Cup against Mumbai, where he took the crucial wicket of Wasim Jaffer in first innings.

In 73 first-class games, Sreesanth has an incredible 211 wickets to his name at an average of 35.80. He is one of the most delightful bowlers to watch in red-ball cricket, especially with his lethal out-swingers often proving to be a nightmare for the batsmen. This is why his comeback would be a great sight for Indian cricket fans who have seen his heroics playing for the national side in past.
