After an early exit from the T20 World Cup 2022, Sri Lanka last played a match on 30 November 2022 in a three-match ODI series which was drawn 1-1. Post that, the Lankan will now lock horns with the Men in Blue in a limited over series, starting January 3, 2023.

The two neighbouring nations will play three match T20I series, followed by an ODI series, starting January 10. After some ups and downs, the Islanders will aim to put a strong squad as they eye to lift the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India next year.
