Delhi Capitals have been handed another blow as their star pacer in Mustafizur Rahman has left the DC camp. The Bangladesh pacer who was roped in by the Delhi-based franchise for the 2023 edition of the cash-rich league will miss the franchise match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Delhi. The left-arm pacer left for his hometown to join his national side for upcoming ODI series against Ireland.
While DC hared the video of thanking the pacer for his duties and wished him luck for his upcoming assignments. Rahman has earlier posted a tweet sharing an update on his departure from the DC camp. The Bangladesh pacer has so far featured in only two of DC’s games and picked up a wicket only.
It is to be noted that South African pacer Anrich Nortje has also left the DC camp citing an emergency. The franchise confirmed Nortje’s departure in a post stating, “Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The David Warner-led DC will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Saturday’s double header. While the DC are placed at the bottom of the points table, Faf du Plessis-led side sit at the fifth place with 10 points. The two teams just have a difference of four points.
