Stefanos Tsitsipas has had a decent 2023 season so far with a final appearance in the Australian Open in January and the Barcelona Open. Mark Philippoussis has been an integral part of his coaching staff for almost a year now. But ahead of the second Grand Slam of the year, the Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has parted ways with Philippoussis. The World No. 5 took to social media to announce the parting of the two.

The 46-year-old thanked the player for the opportunity and reminisced about their great time together. He went on to wish him luck for the future. Philippoussis captioned his Instagram post, “@stefanostsitsipas98 thank you for the opportunity of being a part of your team. It was a great ride and experience, I’m proud of what we achieved together in the short amount of time we had. I wish you health, happiness, and success for your future, on and off the court!”

It is to be noted that the exact reason for this decision is still unknown with one of the marquee events ahead in the calendar year.

Ahead of this year’s BNP Paribas Open, Tsitsipas had praised him and referred to him as a ‘wise man’., “Mark is a very wise man, he has a lot of knowledge,” the Greek’s message read.
