Golden State Warriors’ captain Stephen Curry looked ruthless against Houston Rockets in Game 7 of NBA playoffs Round 1. Curry scored 14 off his 22 points in the fourth quarter while his teammate Buddy Hield dropped nine-three pointers in his match-high haul of 33 as the duo assisted Warriors to advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will play against Minnesota Timberwolves. Warriors eventually gained 103-89 figures to reserve their spot for the next round. In the game, Curry kicked off the night gradually as he could score only three points in the first half.

In the crunch situation, Buddy Hield stepped up and racked up 22 first-half points and concluded the game with 33 and tied the Game 7 feat with nine 3-pointers to help Warriors maintain their early lead. Hield’s gallant performance emboldened Curry, who took over the responsibility from there and helped Warriors walk back victorious. Curry concluded the contest with 22 points while Jimmy Butler also contributed with his 20 points. Warriors took seven matches to figure out the Rockets' frailty and they got success in the pressure game.

Houston Rockets end their season on a disappointing note

With this defeat, Houston Rockets lost their fifth playoffs to Warriors. Earlier, Warriors got the better of Houston in the playoffs round multiple times during 2015 to 2019. Houston gained victory in 52 games to seize the second spot in Western Conference and return to the post-season for the first time since 2020.

Following the loss, Rockets coach Ime Udoka looked disappointed but also hoped for his team’s comeback in the next season. “We had our chances in this series. We all expected to continue to be playing so it’s a letdown. It’s going to sting now but use it as motivation and let’s all come back better. Don’t be satisfied,” Ime Udoka said.
