NBA legend LeBron James has reacted to the Indiana Pacers’ non-reluctance to go for foul up 3 against Boston Celtics when the visiting side was leading in the game by three points till the last quarter. The decision resulted in the Celtics taking the game to overtime and eventually clinching Game 1 by a considerable five-point margin of 133-128.
The incident took place when just 8.1 seconds were left in the game and the Pacers were cruising towards a victory with a 117-114 lead. However, the Celtics inbound the ball on the baseline which could have attracted the immediate foul to the home side, but Indiana were non-reluctant to appeal and Jaylen Brown nailed a game-tying shot with only six seconds left.
The Lakers legendary forward, who is no longer playing in the 2024 NBA Playoffs reacted to the event and came down critically on the Pacers for their absurd decision. He took to X and said, “And yall still wanna know why I would foul up 3 Every Single Time??” Furthermore, he also gave a reference to his podcast with JJ Redick where they talked about the strategy of fouling up three.
Talking about the game, the Boston Celtics are now leading the Conference Finals series by 1-0 after a turnaround win against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
