What a day for cricket fans. While India outplayed West Indies in the 2nd T20I by 8-runs, sealing the three-match series, one Caribbean all-rounder single-handedly helped his franchise clinch the Bangladesh Premier League title in a thrilling contest.

Sunil Narine's top-notch all-around performance guided Comilla Victorians to victory against Fortune Barishal by a mere 1-run on Friday (February 18) in Bangladesh Premier League 2022. While batting, Narine smashed 23-ball 57 runs in the 1st innings and later, while bowling, he clinched two crucial wickets to keep opponents at bay. While chasing a total of 151 runs, Fortunes needed two runs on the last ball, but Shohidul Islam's disciplined bowling conceded just one run. Although Mujeeb ur Rehman attempted to complete the second run, the fielder delivered the ball to wicketkeeper Liton Das, who broke the stumps and dislodged the bail. That was the winning moment for Victorians.

Watch Sunil Narine's highlights here:

Earlier, Barishal's Shykat Ali smashed 58 off 34, while Chris Gayle (33 off 31) played a mature knock to put their team in control of the chase. But the duo was dismissed along with captain Shakib Al Hasan (7 off 7), and despite the best efforts of the tailenders, Tanvir Islam's two crucial wickets helped Comilla win the game. However, Barishal had a troublesome start as their in-form opener Munin Shahriar departed early. But Shykat Ali and Chris Gayle's fantastic knocks got them in the driver's seat. Once, they stood at the doors of win, needing 18 runs from 18 balls, but excellent death bowling by Sunil Narine, Mustafizur Rahman and Shohidul Islam surprised Barishal.

While batting first, Comilla posted 151-9, due to Sunil Narine's 57 off 23, comprising of five fours and five sixes. Moeen Ali scored 38 off 32 for the Victorians. None of the other batters could make the mark in-game for Victorians, except Narine and Ali, who helped the team post a winning total in the high stake game.
