A star Indian Premier League player was summoned by Surat Police after a 28-year-old model and designer Tania Singh committed suicide on February 20, Tuesday. Singh was a resident of Happy Elegance Apartment on Vesu Road, and she was found dead at her apartment. After the incident, police launched an initial inquiry to determine the reason behind her sudden death. 

In the latest developments, Aaj Tak reported that the Surat Police confirmed IPL star Abhishek Sharma’s name involvement in the case. Surat Police’s ACP V.R. Malhotra informed that a CD-R report of Tania has been released. Hyderabad native Singh had messaged the Sunrisers Hyderabad cricketer on his mobile but didn’t get an answer from him. Not only this, but reports by the Indian Express revealed that Sharma had blocked Tania’s number. 

According to ACP Malhotra, “We have so far learned this much that Abhishek Sharma was in friendship with the deceased model. More details will be known in the investigation.”


Surat Police to send notice to Abhishek Sharma

In the case of Tania Singh’s suicide, police will send a notice to Sharma via WhatsApp for interrogation in the coming days. Sharma’s number has been discovered in Tania’s call details, and hence, he will be summoned for questioning. Talking about Singh’s suicide, she was discovered hanging from the ceiling of her apartment by her father. There was no suicide not found at the site, and authorities are working on clues to comprehend her death’s circumstances. 

Speaking of Sharma, he is one of the most promising talents of his side. He has placed for SRH in the popular Indian Premier League and had a terrific season scoring 426 runs. In 2023, he couldn’t continue his effective run and managed to score only 226 runs from 11 games.
