Former Indian southpaw, Suresh Raina has had a glorious international career. He has amassed 7988 runs across all formats and is also the second highest run-getter of IPL. Raina has now ventured into something different and unique. He will be leading a team named UP Dabbangs in India’s first music league, Indian Pro Music League (IPML).
Suresh Raina, who is extremely active on social media, had already recorded 2 video songs for the competition. He is also the brand ambassador of the team. He also plies his trade in the domestic circuit of India for his home state, Uttar Pradesh.
"Music or singing has always been my favourite pastime as well as a hobby. While playing, it has always given me a good company in between. So, I am just trying my hands on what I have always liked the most after cricket," said the CSK batsman.
The Bollywood industry of India will also make a mark in the league. The league shall witness Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as its brand ambassador. Other superstars like Shraddha Kapoor, Govinda, Rajkummar Rao, Riteish Deshmukh & Genelia and Bobby Deol are the brand ambassadors of their respective state teams.
Though the brand ambassadors of the different teams hail from the Bollywood industry, the captains of the other teams hail from the singing industry. Kailash Kher, Bhoomi Trivedi, Mika Singh, Sajid Khan, Shaan, Javed Ali, Ankit Tiwary, Asees Kaur, Payal Dev, Akriti Kakar, Shilpa Rao and Neha Bhasin will be representing their teams as marquee captains.
