India are all set to host Australia for a four-match Test series as a part of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The first Test is scheduled to be played in Nagpur from February 9. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in what is expected to be a thrilling series. The hosts will be without few of their Test regulars like Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer.
While Bumrah is not named in the squad for the first two Tests, Pant is out of the entire series. Shreyas Iyer, meanwhile, will miss the first Test in Nagpur as he is still recovering from a back injury. With Iyer not available, the Indian team management is in a fix about whom to play in his place. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav are two options for India. While Gill has been in the scheme of things for a long time, Yadav has just made his entry into the Test setup.
And as it seems, a Test debut is on the cards for the prolific batter. Yadav shared an Instagram story on Friday (3 Feb) wherein he shared a picture of red cherry and wrote "Hello Friend" in the caption.
