Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav will reportedly miss a few more games for his franchise in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. Yadav may take a few more days to recover from a sports hernia surgery. The veteran Mumbai batter has missed the first two games of his side after the National Cricket Academy denied clearance to him ahead of their season opener.

The cricketer is still being monitored at the academy, and as per the latest developments, the 33-year-old is expected to miss a few more games of the tournament. The cricketer last played in December 2023 in the limited-over format matches during India’s tour of South Africa and was out of action after suffering an ankle injury that required two surgeries. Later, he was ruled out of the T20I series against Afghanistan in January.  Check the top betting trends on the   best betting apps in India   and sites.

Suryakum ar Yadav might have to sit for a few more games: Reports

According to PTI, India's batter will be out of action for a few more games. The news agency quoted a BCCI source as saying, “Surya is making very good progress and very soon he will be back playing for MI. However, he might have to sit out for a few more games, having missed the first two.”

The source added that the franchise doesn’t want to risk Yadav’s fitness as he is likely to take part in the upcoming T20I World Cup 2024. It added, “For BCCI, the main concern is if he is on course for World T20 which he is. Obviously, he will play for MI but after a sports hernia surgery, he can’t be rushed.”
