Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir made a massive claim involving a sensational India middle-order batter ahead of India's  semi-final clash against England. Team India concluded their league stage on a high note as they defeated Zimbabwe by 71-runs to stamp their authority in the ongoing ICC tournament.

Apart from the South Africa clash, the Indian team clinched all its games and comfortably qualified for the knockout stage, topping their group to set up a semi-final clash with England.

Meanwhile, Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav stole the show again on Sunday with his blistering knock of 61-runs in just 25 balls. The Mumbai-born batter was again at his best as he played in his trademark style by smashing the ball all around the park.

India's own Mr. 360 was adjudged Player of the Match for his incredible batting and for guiding India to a competitive total. Meanwhile, former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir claimed that SKY is already the Player of the Tournament for him in this tournament.

The 32-year-old Yadav is currently the second-highest run-scorer for the Men in Blue in the mega event, scoring 225 runs from five matches at an average of 75 and a strike rate of 193.96.

After scoring half-centuries against the Netherlands and South Africa, Suryakumar played an unbeaten 25-ball knock of 61 against Zimbabwe on Sunday with the help of six fours and four sixes.

"We have spoken a lot about him. Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are orthodox. But Suryakumar Yadav is different. India hasn't had these players, especially batting at number 4," said Gambhir while commenting on Star Sports.

"He has scored 200 runs with three half-centuries. For me, he is already the Player of the Tournament for making such an impact in the game. Even if India does no go on to win the World Cup, Suryakumar's contribution will be rated higher than anyone," he added.

With his explosive knock, Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav became the second overall after Pakistan's Md. Rizwan to score above 1000 T20I runs in a calendar year. Yadav's knock ensured that India finished at the top of Group 2 and will now face England in the second semi-final match of the tournament at Adelaide Oval.
