Former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja went all out and slammed the team’s management after a poor show against England. The Men in Green, under the captaincy of Babar Azam toured England right before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 for a four-match series. Pakistan, who aimed to make the most of the opportunity, registered an embarrassing 0-2 defeat against the reigning T20 world champions.

The loss right before the marquee T20 tournament didn’t go well with the fans and cricket pundits alike and they slammed the Men in Green for the same. Ramiz Raja didn’t mince his words and expressed his worries about the experimentation within Pakistan’s white-ball setup. Raja slammed the team on his YouTube channel and said, “They should stop experimenting with the team.”

Raja added, “Go into a game with a proper combination. You need to get out of the phobia of strike rate because you don’t have that kind of players. Aapne is team ka satyanash kar diya hai.” He also expressed his views regarding the introduction of Saim Ayub as an opener. The former cricketer said, “You have ruined the team by breaking the opening pair. The role of the middle over isn’t defined. You have put all-rounders in the middle and two wicketkeepers are playing.”

The 61-year-old further went on to say, “You are changing the fast bowlers. Your spinners don’t spin the ball and don’t have the confidence. You put Imad Wasim out of the playing XI. There is no sideways and you have completely dismantled the team just before the T20 World Cup.”
