Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw shared his first reaction after he was dropped from Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 squad. Notably, on Tuesday, December 17, Mumbai announced their squad for the first three matches of the tournament. As per the announcement, Shreyas Iyer, who recently led the team to SMAT 2024 title victory, will be team’s skipper for the tournament. While several names like Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav made it to the squad, others like Prithvi Shaw missed out the spot.

The 25-year-old took to Instagram to share his reaction, and it seems that the snub left him pretty disappointed. Shaw has been under scrutiny for his form and lack of discipline, since the beginning of the domestic season. He was a part of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy winning squad, before getting dropped for the second time in the season. Shaw was last featured for India three years ago and went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction held in Jeddah last month.

Tell me God: Prithvi Shaw reacts to Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 snub

The cricketer took to social media and highlighted his records, questioning his snub. Notably, in the recently-concluded SMAT, the cricketer could score only 197 runs in nine games with the best score of 49. However, the batter holds the fourth-best List A average among all Indian batters at 55.72 in 65 games. Shaw posted the records on his Instagram Story and wrote, “Tell me God, what more do I have to see.”

Shaw added, “If 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I am not good enough…but I will keep my faith in you and hopefully people believe in me still..cause I will come back for sure..OM SAI RAM..”Earlier, Shaw was dropped from Ranji Trophy games, citing fitness reasons.
