With just 6.1 seconds to play in the regulation time, Jaylen Brown nailed a three-pointer to a rousing reception of the home fans, tying the game at 117-117.
The rally for the Boston Celtics was complete in overtime, winning game one of the NBA East Finals series with a five-point margin against the Indiana Pacers. Jayson Tatum scored 36 points on the night, including 12 rebounds and four assists, while his teammates Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown played a great supporting role to him.
Jayson Tatum talked about the all-important tying shot from Jaylen Brown to the reporters and said, “That s*** was wild… But stay present, stay in the moment. Jaylen Brown shared his views on the game tying shot and remarked, “Jrue [Holiday] made a great pass, [Derrick White] set a great screen, and the rest was history.” The head coach of Boston Celtics, Joe Mazzulla was all appreciative of the shot, and said, “Jaylen [Brown] had great balance,” while adding, “great pass, great shot.”
